Requested by popular demand! Last year, The Actors’ Society organised a “Basics of Screen Fighting Workshop” for actors. It was a 1.5 hour teaser workshop and we realised that we need more! Hence, next month, Peps Goh Fight Design has came up with a more in-depth 3-day syllabus to ensure that the participants know the essentials of a basic screen-fighting performance!
What Will I Learn?
Preview of Combative Segment
Each participant should have touched the essentials of the 3 main elements of hand-to-hand screen combat; Domestic, Combative, Takedowns/Break-falls. And how to keep both themselves and their partners safe in the setting of screen-fighting performance.
In addition, participants will learn and experience wire pulls, how to properly put on a jerk-vest harness, how to maintain air-form and how to fall safely. And they will be taught how to do reactions with gunshots, and experience rigging on and deployment of a blood squib machine.
And on top of that, each student would take everything that is covered during the first 2 days, and perform them all together in a choreography. And that choreography would be recorded on the 3rd day, and shot in the same way which we would do on a set, and that would be edited together and sent to the participants after the workshop as a demo that they can use for their own casting purposes.
Yes! We didn’t write wrongly and you did read correctly! You get a demo-reel at the end of the seminar!
